Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah #2979

** Narrated to us Yaḥyā ibn Yaḥyā al-Tamīmī (RA): We were told by Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah (RA), on the authority of al-Zuhrī (RA), from ʿUrwah (RA), from ʿĀʾishah (RA) (the wife of the Prophet ﷺ), who said: *"The Prophet (ﷺ) granted the shepherds a concession to leave out stoning the Jamar (pillars) on one of the days of Tashrīq. They would graze their animals on one day and stone the Jamar on the next. Then they would stone on the day of departure (Nafr). This was not because the Prophet (ﷺ) permitted them to abandon stoning on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Naḥr) or on the last day of Nafr (Yawm al-Nafr al-Ākhir), but rather they would combine the stoning of the first day of Tashrīq and the second day, stoning them on one of the two days—either the first or the second day of Tashrīq."*
