بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا رَخَّصَ بِالْأَمْرِ بِقَطْعِ الْخُفَّيْنِ لِلرِّجَالِ دُونَ النِّسَاءِ

حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْجَزَرِيُّ بِخَبَرٍ غَرِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، قَالَ: قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَدْ كَانَ صَنَعَ ذَلِكَ يَعْنِي قَطْعَ الْخُفَّيْنِ لِلنِّسَاءِ حَتَّى حَدَّثَتْهُ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ رَخَّصَ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الْخُفَّيْنِ"""

Narrated to us Al-Fadl ibn Ya'qub al-Jazari with an unusual report: Narrated to us 'Abd al-A'la, who said: Muhammad — meaning ibn Ishaq — narrated to me, on the authority of al-Zuhri, from Salim, that Ibn 'Umar used to do that — meaning he used to cut the socks (khuffayn) for women — until Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubayd informed him, on the authority of 'A'ishah, that: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) granted a concession to women regarding the socks (khuffayn)." **CHAPTER:**
