نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالا: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، نا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُخَيْمِرَةَ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَالَتِ: ائْتِ عَلِيًّا فَاسْأَلْهُ، فَإِنَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِذَلِكَ مِنِّي، فَأَتَى عَلِيًّا فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِذَاكَ، يَمْسَحُ الْمُقِيمُ يَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً، وَالْمُسَافِرُ ثَلاثًا"""

Al-Hasan bin Muhammad Al-Zaafrani and Yusuf bin Musa told us, they said: Abu Muawiyah told us, Al-A’mash told us, on the authority of Al-Hakam, on the authority of Al-Qasim bin Mukhaymara, on the authority of Shurayh bin Hani said: I asked Aisha about wiping over the socks, and she said: Go to Ali and ask him, for he knows that more than me. Then he came to Ali and asked him about wiping over the socks, and he said: “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to order that. The resident should wipe over his socks day and night. And the traveler is three.”

حضرت شریح بن هانی رحمہ اللہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے موزوں پر مسح کے متعلق پوچھا تو اُنہوں نے فرمایا سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس جاؤ اور اُن سے پوچھو کیونکہ وہ اس کے متعلق مجھ سے زیادہ جانتے ہیں۔ وہ (حضرت شریح) سیدنا علی رضی اللہ عنہ اُن کے پاس گئے اور اُن سے موزوں پر مسح کرنے کے متعلق پوچھا تو اُنہوں نے فرمایا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مسح کرنے کا حُکم دیا کرتے تھے کہ مقیم شخص ایک دن رات اور مسافر تین دن رات مسح کرلے۔
