سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے سیدنا سعد بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا جبکہ وہ موزوں پر مسح کر رہے تھے، تو (ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے) کہا کہ آپ اس طرح کا عمل کرتے ہیں؟ پھر وہ دونوں سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس اکھٹّے ہوگئے، تو سیدنا سعد رضی اللہ عنہ نے سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا کہ میرے بھتیجے کو موزوں پر مسح کے متعلق فتویٰ دیجیے، تو سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا، ہم نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ہو تے ہوئے ا پنے موزوں پر مسح کیا کر تے تھے اور اس میں کوی حرج نہیں سمجھتے تھے۔ تو ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے عرض کی کہ اگرچہ وہ بیت الخلاء سے (قضائے حاجت پوری کرکے) آئے پھر بھی موزوں پر مسح کرلے؟ (سیدنا عمررضی اللہ عنہ نے) فرمایا کہ ہاں۔
