Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (RA) narrates: The Prophet (PBUH) made it obligatory for a Janabi person to perform ablution three times and pour water into the nose. Imam Darqutni states: This hadith is invalid. No one narrated it except a narrator named Barqa, and this narrator named Barqa used to make hadiths on his own. The correct tradition is the one narrated by a narrator named Waqiyyah, which we have previously quoted as a “Mursal” tradition on the authority of Ibn Sirin: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, made it Sunnah to pour water into the nose three times in the state of Ghusl Janabat.
