سیدنا ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے مؤذن نے ظہر کی اذان کہی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ٹھنڈا کرو، ٹھنڈا کرو۔“ یا فرمایا کہ ”انتظار کرو، انتظار کرو“ پھر فرمایا: ”بیشک گرمی کی شدت جہنّم کی بھاپ سے ہے لہٰذا جب گرمی شدید ہو جائے تو نماز کو ٹھنڈا کرلو۔“ سیدنا ابوذر رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ (لہٰذا ہم نے نماز ظہر اُس وقت ادا کی) جب ہم نے ٹیلوں کا سایہ دیکھ لیا۔

Abdul-Jabbar bin Al-Ala’, Sa’id bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Makhzoumi, and Ahmad bin Abda Al-Dhabi told us, they said: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sa`id, who is Ibn al-Musayyab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “When the heat becomes intense, cool off.” Prayer, for the intensity of the heat is from the blazing heat of Hell.”
