Narrated to us Abd al-Jabbar ibn al-Ala and Sa'id ibn Abd al-Rahman, who both reported: "Narrated to us Sufyan, from al-Zuhri, from Isa ibn Talha, from Abd Allah ibn Amr (RA), who said: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) on the Day of Nahr (the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, the day of the Eid al-Adha sacrifice) and said, 'I shaved my head before I performed my sacrifice.' The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, 'Perform your sacrifice, there is no blame upon you.' The man then said, 'I performed my sacrifice before I threw stones at the Jamarat (the stone pillars in Mina).' The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Throw the stones, there is no blame upon you.' Al-Makhzumi (one of the narrators of this hadith) also stated in his own version of the narration: 'Indeed a man asked the Prophet (ﷺ), saying, 'I shaved my head before I sacrificed,' and the Prophet (ﷺ) gave him the same permissive response. Then another man asked him, saying, 'I performed the nahr (ritual sacrifice, typically of a camel) before I threw stones (at the Jamarat).'" Commentary: This narration clarifies that if a pilgrim performs a ritual act of Hajj or the sacrificial rites of Eid al-Adha out of the prescribed order due to ignorance, no sin is incurred, and the individual is only required to complete the remaining rituals in accordance with prophetic guidance.
