** Narrated to us Abd al-Jabbar ibn al-'Ala', narrated to us Sufyan, on the authority of Abu'z-Zinad, on the authority of al-A'raj, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, and on the authority of Ibn Tawus, on the authority of his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said... Also narrated to us Sa'id ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Makhzumi, narrated to us Sufyan, on the authority of Abu'z-Zinad, on the authority of al-A'raj, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, and on the authority of Ibn Tawus, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said... Also narrated to us Yunus ibn Abd al-A'la, informed us Ibn Wahb, that Malik informed him, on the authority of Abu'z-Zinad, on the authority of al-A'raj, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, on the authority of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who said: "We are the last (to come) but we will be the first on the Day of Resurrection, except that they (the People of the Book) were given the Book before us, and we were given it after them. Then this is the day which Allah made obligatory for them, but they differed about it. So Allah guided us to it, meaning Friday. The people are our followers in it: the Jews have their day tomorrow, and the Christians the day after tomorrow." This is the narration of al-Makhzumi. Abd al-Jabbar said: "And this is the day about which they differed." He also said once: "Then this is the day which Allah made obligatory for them, but they differed about it." In the narration of Malik: "This is their day which was made obligatory for them, but they differed about it." The narration of Ma'mar, on the authority of Hammam ibn Munabbih, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, is from this chapter.

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ہم سب سے آخر میں آنے والی اُمّت ہیں اور ہم قیامت کے دن سب سے آگے ہوں گے، تاہم انہیں ہم سے پہلے کتاب دی گئی اور ہمیں ان کے بعد کتاب عطا ہوئی۔ پھر یہ دن جسے اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر فرض کیا تھا٬ انہوں نے اس میں اختلاف کیا تو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہمیں اس کی ہدایت دے دی یعنی جمعہ کے دن کی - لوگ اس بارے میں ہمارے پیروکار ہیں یہودی کل (ہفتے کو) اور عیسائی اتوار کو عبادت کریں گے -“ یہ جناب مخزومی کی حدیث ہے - اور جناب عبدالجبار کی روایت میں ہے کہ ”اور یہ دن جس میں انہوں نے اختلاف کیا تھا۔“ اور ایک مرتبہ کہا کہ ” پھر یہ دن جس کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان پر فرض کیا تھا، اُنہوں نے اس کے بارے میں اختلاف کیا۔“ جناب معمر کی ہمام بن منبہ کے واسطے سے سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت اسی باب سے ہے -
