And narrated to us Muhammad ibn Rafi', who said: Yazid narrated to us, who said: Al-'Awwam ibn Hawshab narrated to us, who said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit narrated to me, on the authority of Ibn 'Umar (RA), who said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: *"Do not prevent your women from going to the mosques, but their homes are better for them."* A son of 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (RA) said: "Nay, by Allah, we will indeed prevent them." So Ibn 'Umar (RA) said: "Do you hear me narrating from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and then say what you say?!" Both narrations are identical in wording. And narrated to us Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad, who said: Ishaq ibn Yusuf Al-Azraq narrated to us, who said: Al-'Awwam narrated to us with this chain in a similar manner.

سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم اپنی عورتوں کو مساجد میں آنے سے منع نہ کرو اور اُن کے گھر اُن کے لئے بہتر ہیں۔“ سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے بیٹے (بلال) نے کہا کہ کیوں نہیں۔ اللہ کی قسم، ہم انہیں ضرور منع کریں گے -“ اس پر سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے فرمایا کہ ”تم سن رہے ہو کہ میں تمہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا فرمان بیان کر رہا ہوں اور تم آگے سے یہ کٹ حجتی کر رہے ہو؟ دونوں راویوں کے الفاظ ایک ہی ہیں۔

Narrated to us Ahmad ibn al-Miqdam who said: Al-Mu'tamir informed us, he said: I heard my father narrating, from Qatadah, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud, from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), that he said: "The woman is 'awrah (a thing to be concealed), and when she goes out, the Shaytan seeks to tempt her. Narrated to us Muhammad ibn Yahya; narrated to us Muhammad ibn Uthman, known as the Damascene; he narrated to us Sa'd ibn Bashir; on the authority of Qatada; on the authority of Murriq; on the authority of Abi al-Ahwas; on the authority of Abdullah. It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said [the same ruling as the topic of this chapter, i.e., that a woman’s prayer in her home is more virtuous than her prayer in the mosque]. Abu Bakr [the hadith critic] stated: "I only rejected this report because I question whether Qatada actually heard this narration from Abi al-Ahwas, as Sulaiman al-Ta’imi has narrated this same report from Qatada directly from Abi al-Ahwas, having omitted Murriq from the chain of narration. Hammam and Sa'id ibn Bashir, by contrast, included Murriq in their chains. I also doubt the authenticity of this hadith because I have no confirmed record of Qatada hearing this report from Murriq."
