Chapter: The command for believers to follow the imam, and the prohibition of opposing him

Ahmad bin Abdah told us, Abdul Aziz, meaning Al-Darawardi, told us, on the authority of Suhail, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him And he said: “The imam is only to be followed, so when he prays, say ‘Allahu Akbar’, say ‘Allahu Akbar’, and when he bows, then kneel, and do not disagree with him.” So when he said: God hears those who praise Him, so say: Our Lord, and to You is praise, and when he prostrates, then prostrate, and do not hasten before him.”

سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”يقينا امام اس لئے بنایا گیا ہے کہ اس کی اقتدا کی جائے۔ لہٰذا جب وہ نماز پڑھانے کے لئے تکبیر کہے تو تم بھی تکبیر کہو اور جب وہ رکوع کرے تو تم بھی رکوع کرو اور اُس سے اختلاف نہ کرو (اس سے مختلف کام نہ کرو) جب وہ «سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ» کہے تو تم «رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الحَمْدُ» کہو اور جب وہ سجدہ کرے تو تم بھی سجدہ کرو اور تم اس سے پہلے جلدی نہ کرو۔“
