Abdul-Jabbar bin Al-Ala told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Ziyad bin Ulaqah, so he heard Qutbah say: Ali bin Khashram told us, Ibn Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Ibn Ulaqah, and Ahmad Ibn Abdah told us, Sufyan Ibn Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Ziyad Ibn Ulaqah, on the authority of His uncle, Qutbah ibn Malik, heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, reciting Surat Q in the morning, so I heard him reciting: And the palm trees are in their fields. “Tala’ Nadid,” Surah Qa’an, verse 10. And he once said: They are well-grounded, with fresh pollen. Surah Q, verse 10. And Abdul-Jabbar said: He said: “I prayed behind the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I heard him say: And the palm trees are in fields, Surah Q, verse 10.

سیدنا قطبہ بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو نماز صبح میں سورۃ ق کی قراءت کرتے ہوئے سنا۔ (وہ کہتے ہیں) میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو سنا، آپ یہ آیت تلاوت کر رہے تھے «وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ» ”اور کھجور کے بلند و بالا درخت پیدا کیے جن کے شگوفے تہ بہ تہ ہیں۔“ اور ایک مرتبہ یہ الفاظ روایت کیے «بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ» جناب عبدالجبار کی روایت کے الفاظ یہ ہیں کہ میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی تو میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ آیت پڑھتے ہوئے سنا «وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ» ۔
