On the authority of Muhammad bin Bashar, on the authority of Yahya, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abdullah bin Abi Qatada, on the authority of his father, that The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, “would recite at noon, and sometimes we might hear the verse, and he would lengthen the first rak’ah.” Abu Bakr said: In the story of Zayd bin Thabit: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “was moving his lips.” And in the story of Khabbab: We knew how the Prophet read. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, “the disorder of his beard” is evidence that he was afraid to recite at noon and afternoon. I included their information in the Book of Prayer in the chapters of recitation.
