سیدنا ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ ایک روز رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں خطبہ ارشاد فرمایا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے (دوران خطبہ میں) سورۃ ص کی تلاوت کی، پھر جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سجدہ والی آیت تلاوت کی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے (منبر سے) اُتر کر سجدہ کیا اور ہم نے بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سجدہ کیا۔ ایک مرتبہ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کی تلاوت فرمائی تو جب آپ آیت سجدہ پر پہنچے تو ہم نے سجدہ کرنے کی تیاری کرلی۔ جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں (تیار دیکھا) تو فرمایا: ”بلاشبہ یہ تو ایک نبی (داؤد علیہ السلام) کی توبہ کا مقام ہے۔ لیکن میں نے تمہیں سجدہ کرنے کے لئے تیار دیکھا ہے۔ لہٰذا آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منبر سے نیچے تشریف لائے اور سجدہ کیا اور ہم نے بھی سجدہ کیا۔
