Abu Musa Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna told us, on the authority of Al-Dahhak bin Mukhlid Al-Shaybani, on the authority of Ibn Jurayj, Al-Hasan bin Muslim told me, On the authority of Tawus, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: “I witnessed the breaking of the fast prayer with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Abu Bakr, Omar, and Uthman. They all prayed it before the sermon, and then the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, descended, and it was as if I could see him sitting the men with his hand, then he came forward. He pushed them through his path until he came to the women, with Bilal with him, so he recited: O Prophet, when the believing women come to you, they will pledge their allegiance to you. Surat Al-Mumtahana, verse 12, until he concluded the verse, then he said When he finished: Are you upset about that? One woman said: No one else answered him. Al-Hasan did not know who she was: Yes. He said: So they gave in charity. He said: So he spread out. Bilal his garment, so he said: Come, may I ransom yourselves, so they began to throw the separator and the rings into Bilal’s garment.”

سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما بیان کرتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ابوبکر، عمر اور عثمان رضی اللہ عنہم کے ساتھ عید الفطر کی نمازیں پڑھی ہیں، یہ تمام صحابہ کرام نماز خطبے سے پہلے پڑھتے تھے۔ (ایک مرتبہ) نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نیچے تشریف لائے، گویا کہ میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف دیکھ رہا ہوں کہ آپ مردوں کو اپنے ہاتھ کے ساتھ بیٹھنے کا اشارہ فرما رہے تھے، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم لوگوں کے درمیان سے گزرتے ہوئے عورتوں کے پاس تشریف لائے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے۔ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ آیت تلاوت کی «يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ» [ سورة الممتحنة: 12 ] ”اے نبی، جب آپ کے پاس مؤمن عورتیں بیعت کے لئے حاضر ہوں۔“ آخر آیت تک تلاوت فرمائی۔ تلاوت کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا تم اسی بات پر (قائم) ہو؟ صرف ایک عورت نے جواب دیا کہ ہاں جی، جناب حسن کو معلوم نہیں ہو سکا کہ وہ عورت کون تھی۔ رسول اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”صدقہ کرو خیرات کرو۔“ چناچہ سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نے کپڑا پھیلا دیا اور کہا کہ اپنا صد قہ لاؤ۔ پس عورتوں نے اپنے زیورات اور انگوٹھیاں سیدنا بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کے کپڑے میں ڈالنا شروع کر دیں۔
