Al-Fadl bin Yaqoub Al-Jazari told us, on the authority of Abdul-Ala, on the authority of Muhammad bin Ishaq, on the authority of Asim bin Omar bin Qatada, on the authority of Mahmoud bin Labid, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to the Banu Abd al-Ashhal and led the Maghrib prayer with them. When he greeted him, he said: “Kneel down with these two The two rak'ahs in your homes. He said: “I saw Mahmoud, who was the imam of his people, leading them in the Maghrib prayer, then he went out and sat in the courtyard of the mosque until he got up shortly before Darkness, then he enters the house and leads them in prayer.”

سیدنا محمود بن لبید رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بنی عبداشہل (کے قبیلے) میں تشریف لائے تو اُنہیں نماز مغرب پڑھائی، پھر جب سلام پھیرا تو فرمایا: ”یہ دو رکعات اپنے گھروں میں پڑھو۔“ (قتادہ) کہتے ہیں کہ بیشک میں نے سیدنا محمود رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا، جبکہ وہ اپنی قوم کے امام تھے، آپ اُنہیں مغرب کی نماز پڑھاتے تھے۔ پھر آپ باہر تشریف لاتے اور مسجد کے صحن میں بیٹھ جاتے، حتیٰ کہ عشاء سے تھوڑی دیر پہلے اُٹھ کر گھر چلے جاتے اور یہ دو رکعات ادا کرتے۔

When he prayed, people got up to perform voluntary prayers. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “You must perform this prayer in your homes.”

سیدنا کعب بن عجرہ رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مغرب کی نماز قبیلہ بنی عبد اشہل کی مسجد میں ادا کی، جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز پڑھا چکے تو لوگوں نے اُٹھ کر سنّیتں ادا کرنی شروع کر دیں، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تمہیں یہ نماز اپنے گھروں میں پڑھنی چاہیے۔“
