(1) CHAPTER. Fasting is obligatory in (the month of) Ramadan.

(2) CHAPTER. The superiority of As-Saum (the fasting).

(3) CHAPTER. As-Saum (the fasting) is an expiation (for sins).

روزہ گناہوں کا کفارہ ہوتاہے

بَابٌ: الصَّوْمُ كَفَّارَةٌ

(4) CHAPTER. Ar-Raiyan (one of the gates of Paradise) is for people observing Saum (fast) people.

روزہ داروں کے لیے ریان ( نامی ایک دروازہ جنت میں بنایا گیا ہے اس کی تفصیل کا بیان )

بَابٌ: الرَّيَّانُ لِلصَّائِمِينَ

(5) CHAPTER. Should it be said “Ramadan” or “the month of Ramadam?” And whoever thinks that both are permissible.

رمضان کہا جائے یا ماہ رمضان ؟ اور جن کے نزدیک دونوں لفظوں کی گنجائش ہے ۔

بَابٌ: هَلْ يُقَالُ رَمَضَانُ أَوْ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ، وَمَنْ رَأَى كُلَّهُ وَاسِعًا

(6) CHAPTER. Whoever observed fast in Ramadan out of sincere faith (that it is an enjoined duty), and hoping for a reward from Allah and with honest intention (i.e., only for Allah's sake).

جو شخص رمضان کے روزے ایمان کے ساتھ ثواب کی نیت کر کے رکھے اس کا ثواب

بَابُ مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا وَنِيَّةً

(7) CHAPTER. The Prophet used to be most generous in the month of Ramadan.

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رمضان میں سب سے زیادہ سخاوت کیا کرتے تھے

بَابٌ: أَجْوَدُ مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَكُونُ فِي رَمَضَانَ

(8) CHAPTER. Whoever does not give up lying speech (false statements (i.e., telling lies) and acting on those while obsering Saum (fast).

جو شخص رمضان میں جھوٹ بولنا اور دغابازی کرنا نہ چھوڑے

بَابُ مَنْ لَمْ يَدَعْ قَوْلَ الزُّورِ، وَالعَمَلَ بِهِ فِي الصَّوْمِ

(9) CHAPTER. Should one say, “I am observing Saum (fast)” on being abused?

کوئی روزہ دار کو اگر گالی دے تو اسے یہ کہنا چاہئے کہ میں روزہ سے ہوں ؟

بَابٌ: هَلْ يَقُولُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ إِذَا شُتِمَ

(10) CHAPTER. As-Saum (the fasting) (is recommended) for those who fear committing illegal sexual acts, i.e., those who are unmarried.

جو کنوارا ہو اور زنا سے ڈرے تو وہ روزہ رکھے

بَابٌ: الصَّوْمُ لِمَنْ خَافَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ العُزْبَةَ

(11) CHAPTER. The statement of the Prophet : “Start observing Saum (fasts) on seeing the crescent-moon of Ramadan, and stop observing Saum on seeing the crescent-moon (of Shawwal).

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ارشاد جب تم ( رمضان کا ) چاند دیکھو تو روزے رکھو اور جب شوال کا چاند دیکھو تو روزے رکھنا چھوڑ دو

بَابُ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الهِلاَلَ فَصُومُوا، وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُو

(12) CHAPTER. The two months of Eid do not decrease.

عید کے دونوں مہینے کم نہیں ہوتے

بَابٌ: شَهْرَا عِيدٍ لاَ يَنْقُصَانِ

(13) CHAPTER. The statement of the Prophet : “We neither write nor know accounts.”

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فرمانا کہ ہم لوگ حساب کتاب نہیں جانتے

بَابُ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لاَ نَكْتُبُ وَلاَ نَحْسُبُ»

(14) CHAPTER. Not to observe Saum (fast) for a day or two ahead of Ramadan.

رمضان سے ایک یا دو دن پہلے روزے نہ رکھے جائیں

بَابٌ: لاَ يَتَقَدَّمُ رَمَضَانَ بِصَوْمِ يَوْمٍ وَلاَ يَوْمَيْنِ

(15) CHAPTER. The Statement of Allah: “It is made lawful for you to have sexual relations with your wives on the night of the As-Saum (the fasts)”.

اللہ عزوجل کا فرمانا کہ

بَابُ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ ذِكْرُهُ:

(16) CHAPTER. The Statement of Allah: … And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from the black.”

۔ ( سورۃ البقرہ میں ) اللہ تعالیٰ کا فرمانا کہ

بَابُ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى:

(17) CHAPTER. The statement of the Prophet : “The Adhan of Bilal should not stop you from taking Sahur (late-night meals).

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فرمانا کہ بلال کی اذان تمہیں سحری کھانے سے نہ روکے

بَابُ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى:

(18) CHAPTER. Taking the Sahur (late night meals taken before dawn) hurriedly (shortly before dawn).

سحری کھانے میں دیر کرنا

بَابُ تَأْخِيرِ السَّحُورِ

(19) CHAPTER. What is the interva between the (end of) Sahur and the Salat-ul-Fajr (early morning prayer)?

سحری اور فجر کی نماز میں کتنا فاصلہ ہوتا تھا

بَابٌ: قَدْرِ كَمْ بَيْنَ السَّحُورِ وَصَلاَةِ الفَجْرِ

(20) CHAPTER. The Sahur (late night meals) is a blessing but it is not compulsory.

سحری کھانا مستحب ہے واجب نہیں ہے

بَابُ بَرَكَةِ السَّحُورِ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِيجَابٍ

(21) CHAPTER. If the intention of observing Saum (fast) was made in the daytime.

اگر کوئی شخص روزے کی نیت دن میں کرے تو درست ہے

بَابُ إِذَا نَوَى بِالنَّهَارِ صَوْمًا

(22) CHAPTER. If a person observing Saum (fasts) gets up in the morning in the state of Janaba [will his Saum (fast) be valid?]

روزہ دار صبح کو جنابت کی حالت میں اٹھے تو کیا حکم ہے

بَابُ الصَّائِمِ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا

(23) CHAPTER. To embrace while one is observing Saum (fast).

روزہ دار کا اپنی بیوی سے مباشرت یعنی بوسہ مساس وغیرہ درست ہے

بَابُ المُبَاشَرَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ

(24) CHAPTER. What is said regarding kissing by a fasting person.

روزہ دار کا روزہ کی حالت میں اپنی بیوی کا بوسہ لینا

بَابُ القُبْلَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ

(25) CHAPTER. Taking a bath by a person observing Saum (fast).

روزہ دار کا غسل کرنا جائز ہے

بَابُ اغْتِسَالِ الصَّائِمِ

(26) CHAPTER. If a person observing Saum (fast) ate or drank forgetfully (should he observe Saum another day in lieu of that day)?

اگر روزہ دار بھول کر کھا پی لے تو روزہ نہیں جاتا

بَابُ الصَّائِمِ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَوْ شَرِبَ نَاسِيًا

(27) CHAPTER. Dry or green Siwak for the person observing Saum (fast).

روزہ دار کے لیے تر یا خشک مسواک استعمال کرنی درست ہے

بَابُ سِوَاكِ الرَّطْبِ وَاليَابِسِ لِلصَّائِمِ

(29) CHAPTER. Whoever has a sexual intercourse with wife in Ramadan, (intentionally, he has to pay expiation).

جان بوجھ کر اگر رمضان میں کسی نے جما ع کیا ؟

بَابُ إِذَا جَامَعَ فِي رَمَضَانَ

(30) CHAPTER: If somebody had a sexual intercourse with his wife in Ramadan and has got nothing, then if he is given something in charity, he should give the expiation of that sinful act.

اگر کسی نے رمضان میں قصداً جماع کیا !

بَابُ إِذَا جَامَعَ فِي رَمَضَانَ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَيْءٌ، فَتُصُدِّقَ عَلَيْهِ فَلْيُكَفِّرْ

(31) CHAPTER. Can a person who has had sexual intercourse (with his wife) in Ramadan feed his family from things given as expiation of his sin if they are needy?

رمضان میں اپنی بیوی کے ساتھ قصداً ہمبستر ہونے والا شخص کیا کرے ؟

بَابُ المُجَامِعِ فِي رَمَضَانَ، هَلْ يُطْعِمُ أَهْلَهُ مِنَ الكَفَّارَةِ إِذَا كَانُوا مَحَاوِيجَ

(32) CHAPTER. Cupping (letting out blood medically) and vomiting of a person observing Saum (fast).

روزہ دار کا پچھنا لگوانا اور قے کرنا کیسا ہے

بَابُ الحِجَامَةِ وَالقَيْءِ لِلصَّائِمِ

(33) CHAPTER. To observe Saum (fast) or not to observe Saum during journeys.

سفر میں روزہ رکھنا اور افطار کرنا

بَابُ الصَّوْمِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالإِفْطَارِ

(34) CHAPTER. If a person observed Saum (fast) some days of Ramadan and then went on a journey (is it permissible for him to break his Saum).

جب رمضان میں کچھ روزے رکھ کر کوئی سفر کرے

بَابُ إِذَا صَامَ أَيَّامًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ سَافَرَ

(36) CHAPTER. The saying of the Prophet to the person observing Saum (fast) who was being shaded on a very hot day, It is not from Al-Birr (righteousness) to observe As-Saum (the fast) on a journey.

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا فرمانا اس شخص کے لیے جس پر شدت گرمی کی وجہ سے سایہ کر دیا گیا تھا کہ

بَابُ قَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ لِمَنْ ظُلِّلَ عَلَيْهِ وَاشْتَدَّ الحَرُّ

(37) CHAPTER. The Companions of the Prophet did not criticize each other for observing Saum (fast) or not observing Saum (fast) (on journeys).

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اصحاب رضی اللہ عنہم ( سفر میں ) روزہ رکھتے یا نہ رکھتے وہ ایک دوسرے پر نکتہ چینی نہیں کیا کرتے تھے

بَابٌ: لَمْ يَعِبْ أَصْحَابُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا فِي الصَّوْمِ وَالإِفْطَارِ

(38) CHAPTER. Whoever broke his Saum (fast) on a journey (publicly) so that the people might see him.

سفر میں لوگوں کو دکھا کر روزہ افطا کر ڈالنا

بَابُ مَنْ أَفْطَرَ فِي السَّفَرِ لِيَرَاهُ النَّاسُ

(39) CHAPTER. (The Statement of Allah): And as for those who can fast with difficulty (e.g. the aged etc) they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a Miskin (poor person) (for every day). (V.2:184)

سورۃ البقرہ کی اس آیت کا بیان وعلی الذین یطیقونہ فدیۃ الایۃ

بَابُ {وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ} [البقرة: 184]

(40) CHAPTER. When to make up for the missed days of fasting of Ramadan.

رمضان کے قضاء روزے کب رکھے جائیں

بَابٌ: مَتَى يُقْضَى قَضَاءُ رَمَضَانَ

(41) CHAPTER. The menstruating women should leave the Saum (fast) and As-Salat (the prayer).

حیض والی عورت نہ نماز پڑھے اور نہ روزے رکھے

بَابٌ: الحَائِضُ تَتْرُكُ الصَّوْمَ وَالصَّلاَةَ

(42) CHAPTER. Whoever died and he ought to have observed Saum (fast) (the missed days of Ramadan, can somebody else observe Saum instead of him?)

اگر کوئی شخص مر جائے اور اس کے ذمہ روزے ہوں

بَابُ مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صَوْمٌ

(43) CHAPTER. When should the person observing Saum (fast) break his Saum (fast)?

روزہ کس وقت افطا رکرے ؟

بَابٌ: مَتَى يَحِلُّ فِطْرُ الصَّائِمِ

(44) CHAPTER. lftar [to break the Saum (fast)] with the available water or anything else.

پانی وغیرہ جو چیز بھی پاس ہو اس سے روزہ افطار کر لینا چاہئے

بَابٌ: يُفْطِرُ بِمَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ المَاءِ، أَوْ غَيْرِهِ

(45) CHAPTER. To hasten the Iftar [breaking of the fast].

روزہ کھولنے میں جلدی کرنا

بَابُ تَعْجِيلِ الإِفْطَارِ

(46) CHAPTER. If somebody Aftara [breaks the Saum (fast)], thinking that the sun has set and then sees the sun still visible. [Should he make up for that Saum?]

ایک شخص نے سورج غروب سمجھ کر روزہ کھول لیا اس کے بعد سورج نکل آیا !

بَابُ إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فِي رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ

(47) CHAPTER. Saum (fasting) of boys (children etc.)

بچوں کے روزہ رکھنے کا بیان

بَابُ صَوْمِ الصِّبْيَانِ

(48) CHAPTER. Al-Wisal [i.e., to observe Saum (fast) continuously without eating or drinking anything by day or night, may be for a day or two or more].

پے درپے ملا کر روزہ رکھنا اور جنہوں نے یہ کہا کہ رات میں روزہ نہیں ہو سکتا

بَابُ الوِصَالِ، وَمَنْ قَالَ: «لَيْسَ فِي اللَّيْلِ صِيَامٌ»

(49) CHAPTER. The punishment for the person who practises Al-Wisal very often.

جو طے کے روزے بہت رکھے اس کو سزا دینے کا بیان

بَابُ التَّنْكِيلِ لِمَنْ أَكْثَرَ الوِصَالَ

(50) CHAPTER. To observe Saum (fast) continuously day and night (Al-Wisal) till the time of Sahar (last part of night).

سحری تک وصال کا روزہ رکھنا

بَابُ الوِصَالِ إِلَى السَّحَرِ

(51) CHAPTER. If someone forces his Muslim brother to break his (Nawafil) fast, by giving him oath, the person observing Saum (fast) has not to observe Saum (fast) in lieu of it if the giving up of the Saum was better for him.

کسی نے اپنے بھائی کو نفلی روزہ توڑنے کے لیے قسم دی

مہمان کی خاطر سے نفل روزہ نہ رکھنا یا توڑ ڈالنا

(55) CHAPTER. The right of the body in observing As-Saum (the fast).

(57) CHAPTER. The right of the family (wife) in observing As-Saum (the fast).

(58) CHAPTER. Saum (fasting) on alternate days.

ایک دن روزہ اور ایک دن افطار کا بیان

بَابُ صَوْمِ يَوْمٍ وَإِفْطَارِ يَوْمٍ

(59) CHAPTER. The Saum (fasting) of Dawud (David) عليه السلام.

حضرت داؤد علیہ السلام کا روزہ

بَابُ صَوْمِ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ

(60) CHAPTER. To observe Saum (fast) the three days (preceding) the full moon night, i.e., 13th, 14th and 15th of the lunar months.

ایام بیض کے روزے یعنی تیرہ ، چودہ اور پندرہ تاریخوں کے روزے رکھنا

بَابُ صِيَامِ أَيَّامِ البِيضِ: ثَلاَثَ عَشْرَةَ وَأَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ وَخَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ

(61) CHAPTER. Whoever Visited some people and did not break his (optional) Saum (fast) with them.

جو شخص کسی کے ہاں بطور مہمان ملاقات کے لیے گیا اور ان کے یہاں جا کر اس نے اپنا نفلی روزہ نہیں توڑا

بَابُ مَنْ زَارَ قَوْمًا فَلَمْ يُفْطِرْ عِنْدَهُمْ

(62) CHAPTER. Fasting the last days of the month.

مہینے کے آخر میں روزہ رکھنا

بَابُ الصَّوْمِ مِنْ آخِرِ الشَّهْرِ

(63) CHAPTER. Observing Saum (fast) on Friday. If someone gets up in the morning of Friday and is observing the Saum (fast) he should break it [if he did not observe Saum the day before or does not intend to observe Saum (fasts) after it].

جمعہ کے دن روزہ رکھنا اگر کسی نے خالی ایک جمعہ کے دن کے روزہ کی نیت کر لی تو اسے توڑ ڈالے

(64) CHAPTER. Can one select some special days [for observing Saum (fast)]?

(65) CHAPTER. Observing Saum (fast) on the day of Arafah.

(67) CHAPTER. Observing Saum (fast) on the day of Nahr (i.e., first day of Eid-ul-Adha).

(68) CHAPTER. Observing Saum (fast) on Tashriq days (11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul-Hijjah).

ایام تشریق کے روزے رکھنا

(69) CHAPTER. Observing Saum (fast) on the day of Ashura (tenth of Muharram).
