Ahmad narrated to us, he said: Muhammad ibn Jami al-Attar narrated to us, he said: Ghassan ibn Awf al-Mazini narrated to us, he said: Said al-Jurayri narrated to us, from Abu Nadrah, from Abu Said al-Khudri, he said: We went on a campaign with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he came upon a pond; so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) dismounted and we dismounted, and the prayer came. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Bilal, stand and call the adhan. So Bilal went and poured out water, then came to the pond, and washed his face and hands, and reached toward his khuffs, and he was wearing two black khuffs, and that was before the eyes of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called to him: O Bilal, wipe over the khuffs and the head covering.
