Al-Mu'jam al-Awsat of Imam al-Tabarani (d. 360 AH) collects about nine thousand five hundred hadiths arranged by the names of his teachers, recording rare and unfamiliar narrations (ghara'ib) he heard from each of them. It is a major source of unique chains and narrations absent from the canonical collections, frequently cited by later hadith critics.

المعجم الاوسط امام سلیمان بن احمد طبرانی (متوفی 360ھ) کی حدیث کی مشہور کتاب ہے جس میں تقریباً ساڑھے نو ہزار احادیث ان کے اساتذہ (شیوخ) کے ناموں کی حروف تہجی کی ترتیب پر جمع کی گئی ہیں۔ ہر استاد کے تحت وہ احادیث لائی گئی ہیں جو صرف اسی سند سے مروی ہیں، اسی لیے یہ کتاب غرائب و افرادِ حدیث کا اہم ذخیرہ شمار ہوتی ہے۔
