Sayyidna Sahl bin Sa'd (RA) narrates: Sayyidna Abi Bin Ka'b (RA) narrated to me: "Some people say: Ghusl is required due to ejaculation (although in reality) it was a leave given by the Prophet (PBUH) in the early days of Islam, after which he (PBUH) ordered us to bathe." This tradition is authentic.

Al-Zuhri narrates: I asked Urwa about a man who has intercourse, but does not ejaculate, and Urwa replied: "The opinion of the people is this, they adopt the last commandment of the Prophet, may God's prayers and peace be upon him." Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) told me: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do the same thing and not perform ghusl, but this was before the conquest of Makkah. After that, he started performing ghusl and instructed people to perform ghusl (in such a situation)."
