So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever establishes a practice — as if meaning a good one — and those after him act upon it, he has the like of the reward of whoever acts upon it, without anything diminished from their rewards; and whoever establishes an evil practice and those after him act upon it, upon him is the like of the burden of whoever acts upon it, without anything diminished from their burdens}.

Then Abu Bakr stood and gave, then 'Umar stood and gave, then the Muhajirun and Ansar stood and gave, so the face of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brightened until we saw joy on his face. So he said at that: Whoever establishes a practice... then he mentioned the rest of the hadith before it. So the meaning of the Prophet's saying (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and from the rewards of whoever acts upon it, in Hudhayfah's hadith, returns to the meaning: and the rewards of whoever acts upon it, in Jarir's hadith, so they agree and do not contradict. Then this questioner said: But something was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud indicating contrary to what you mentioned.

جو ہمیں ابراہیم بن مرزوق اور محمد بن علی بن داؤد نے بیان کیا، دونوں نے کہا: ہمیں عفان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں ہمام نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں ہشام بن عروہ نے بیان کیا، اپنے والد سے، عبداللہ بن عمرو سے، انہوں نے کہا: آدم کا وہ بیٹا جس نے اپنے بھائی کو قتل کیا اہلِ جہنم کے ساتھ جہنم کے عذاب کا نصف صحیح تقسیم میں بانٹے گا۔ تو یہ پہلی حدیث میں ہمارے ذکر پر دلالت کرتا ہے۔ اور اللہ سے ہم توفیق مانگتے ہیں۔
