نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ يَعْنِي سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ حَبَّانَ ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ جَمِيعًا، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ ، قَالَ: خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِيَّاكُمْ وَشِرْكَ السَّرَائِرِ" قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَمَا شِرْكُ السَّرَائِرِ؟ قَالَ:" يَقُومُ الرَّجُلُ فَيُصَلِّي فَيُزَيِّنُ صَلاتَهُ جَاهِدًا لِمَا يَرَى مِنْ نَظَرِ النَّاسِ إِلَيْهِ، فَذَلِكَ شِرْكُ السَّرَائِرِ"""

Abdullah bin Saeed Al-Ashjaj told us, Abu Khaled told us, meaning Suleiman bin Hibban, h. Ali bin Khashram told us, Issa bin Yunus told us All of them, on the authority of Saad bin Ishaq bin Ka’b bin Ujrah, on the authority of Asim bin Omar bin Qatada, on the authority of Mahmoud bin Labid, who said: The Prophet went out and prayed May God bless him and grant him peace. He said: “O people, beware of the polytheism of secrets.” They said: O Messenger of God, and what is the polytheism of secrets? He said: “A man gets up and prays, and he beautifies his prayer by striving for what is seen by people looking at him, for that is shirk of secrets.”

سیدنا محمودبن لبید رضی اللہ عنہ بیان کرتے ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم (گھرسے) باہر تشریف لائے اور فرمایا: ”لوگو، مخفی اور پوشیدہ شرک سے بچو، صحابہ کرام نے عرض کی کہ اے اللہ کے رسول، مخفی شرک کیا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ایک شخص کھڑے ہوکر نماز پڑھتا ہے تو اپنی نماز کو خوب مزیّن کرتا ہے، لوگوں کو اپنی طرف دیکھتے ہوئے دیکھتا ہے تو خوب محنت و کوشش (سے نمازادا) کرتا ہے، تو یہی مخفی و پوشیدہ شرک ہے۔“
