On the authority of Ali bin Hajar, on the authority of Ismail, meaning Ibn Jafar, on the authority of Abu Suhail, who is the uncle of Malik ibn Anas, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Talha ibn Ubaid. By God, a Bedouin came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, while he was with a disheveled head. He said: O Messenger of God, tell me what God has made obligatory upon me. Prayer? He said: “The five daily prayers, unless you do something voluntary.” He said: Tell me what has God made obligatory upon me in terms of zakat? He said: Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, informed him of the laws of Islam. He said: By the One who honored you, I do not volunteer anything, nor do I subtract anything from what was enjoined. God is upon me, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “He will succeed and his father if he is truthful, or he will enter Paradise and his father if he is truthful.”
