His prayer and peace, he stood up and faced the people while they were sitting in their place of prayer. If he had a need to be sent or otherwise, he mentioned it. for the people, and if he had a need he would command them to fulfill it, and he would say: “Give in charity. Give in charity. Give in charity.” And he was the one who gave alms most of the time to women, then He left, and it remained like that until Marwan bin Al-Hakam arrived. I went out and confronted Marwan until we came to the prayer place, and behold, Kathir bin Al-Salt had built it. سیدنا ابوسعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عید الاضحیٰ اور عیدالفطر کے دن (عیدگاہ کی طرف) نکلا کرتے تھے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز سے ابتدا کرتے، پھر جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز مکمّل کرکے سلام پھیرتے تو لوگوں کی طرف اپنے چہرہ مبارک کے ساتھ متوجہ ہوتے جبکہ وہ اپنی اپنی نماز والی جگہ پر بیٹھے ہوتے۔ اگر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کوئی لشکر بھیجنے کی ضرورت ہوتی یا کوئی اور کام ہوتا تو لوگوں کو بیان کردیتے۔ اور اگر کوئی (مالی) ضرورت ہوتی تو اُنہیں اس کا حُکم دیتے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے تھے: ”صدقہ و خیرات کرو، صدقہ دو، صدقہ دو۔“ اور صدقہ دینے والی زیادہ ترعورتیں ہوتی تھیں۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم واپس تشریف لے جاتے۔ مروان بن حکم کے دور خلافت تک اسی طرح ہوتا رہا۔ پھر (اُسکے دور حکو مت میں) میں مروان کے ہاتھ میں ہاتھ ڈال کر نکلا حتّیٰ کہ ہم عید گاہ پہنچ گئے ہم نے اچانک دیکھا کہ کثیر بن صلت نے (عید گاہ میں) گارے اور اینٹوں سے منبر بنا دیا تھا۔ اچانک مروان نے مجھ سے اپنا ہاتھ چھڑانا شروع کردیا، گویا کہ وہ مجھے منبر کی طرف کھینچ رہا تھا اور میں اُسے عید گاہ کی طرف کھینچ رہا تھا۔ جب میں نے اُس کی یہ حرکت دیکھی تو میں نے کہا کہ نماز سے ابتداء کرنے والا عمل کہاں گیا؟ تو مروان نے کہا، اے ابوسعید وہ تو چھوڑ دیا گیا ہے جو آپ کو معلوم ہے۔ پس میں نے بلند آواز سے کہا کہ ہر گز نہیں، اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے، جس چیز کا مجھے علم ہے تم اس سے بہتر عمل نہیں کر سکتے۔ تین بار یہ بات کہی پھر میں واپس چلا گیا۔
