Allahumm-aghfir li jiddi wa hazli, wa khata'i wa 'amdi, wa kullu dhalika 'indi. Allahumm-aghfir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu, wa ma asrartu, wa ma a'lantu, wa ma Anta a'lamu bihi minni. Antal-Muqaddimu, wa Antal-Mu'akhkhiru; wa Anta 'ala kulli shai'in Qadir (O Allah! Forgive my errors, ignorance and immoderation in my affairs. You are better aware of my faults than myself. O Allah! His wife said to him: What kept you away from your guests? He said: Did you not feed them? She said: They refused until you came and they were presented to them. He said: So I went and hid, and he said: O Gunther, and he became angry and cursed, and said: Eat, may it not be blessed. By Allah, I will never feed him again. He said: By Allah, we did not take a single morsel except that more increased from below it than (the morsel taken), until they were full, and it became more than it was before. So Abu Bakr ate from it and said: This was only from Satan, meaning his right hand. Then he ate from it. A morsel, then he carried it to the Prophet (ﷺ) and it remained with him in the morning, and there was a covenant between us and my people, so the term passed, so we separated twelve men, with each man having people, Allah knows how many each man had, so they all ate from it. And in a narration: Abu Bakr swore not to feed him, so the woman swore not to feed him, so the guest - or the guests - swore not to feed him, or to feed him until he fed him, so Abu Bakr said Bakr: This is from Satan! So he called for food, and they ate and they ate, and they began not to lift a morsel except that more increased from below it, and he said: O sister of Banu Firas, what is this? She said: The apple of my eye is now more than it is before we eat, so they ate, and he sent it to the Prophet (ﷺ) and he mentioned that he ate some of it. And in a narration: Abu Bakr said to Abd al-Rahman: Attend to your guests, for I am going to the Prophet (ﷺ) so finish serving them their food before I come back. So Abd al-Rahman set off and brought them what he had, and he said: Feed. They said: Where is the master of our house? He said: Feed. They said: We will not eat until the master of our house comes. He said: Accept your villages from us, for if he comes and you do not feed, we will meet with him. They refused, so I knew that he was angry with me, and when he came, I stepped away from him, and he said: What did you do? So they told him, and he said: O Abdul Rahman, but he remained silent, then he said: O Abdul Rahman, and he remained silent, and he said: O Gunther, I swear to you if you had heard my voice when I came! So I left, and I said: Ask your guests, and they said: He spoke the truth, he brought him to us. He said: You only waited for me, and by Allah I will not feed him. tonight, and the others said: By Allah, we will not feed him until you feed him.
