[1/178] 512 - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : ثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قَالَ : أَتَيْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَهُوَ فِي بَنِي سَلِمَةَ فَسَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْ حَجَّةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَحَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَكَثَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَ سِنِينَ لَمْ يَحُجَّ ، ثُمَّ أُذِّنَ فِي النَّاسِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاجٌّ هَذَا الْعَامَ ، فَنَزَلَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ بَشَرٌ كَثِيرٌ كُلُّهُمْ يَلْتَمِسُ أَنْ يَأْتَمَّ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَيَفْعَلُ مَا يَفْعَلُ ، فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقِعْدَةِ وَخَرَجْنَا مَعَهُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَى ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ نَفِسَتْ أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ عُمَيْسٍ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْأَلُهُ : كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ ؟ قَالَ : اغْتَسِلِي ، ثُمَّ اسْتَثْفِرِي بِثَوْبٍ ، ثُمَّ أَهِلِّي ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ عَلَى الْبَيْدَاءِ أَهَلَّ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ : لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ ، لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ ، وَلَبَّى النَّاسُ ، وَالنَّاسُ يَزِيدُونَ : ذَا الْمَعَارِجِ وَنَحْوَهُ . وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْمَعُ فَلَا يَقُولُ لَهُمْ شَيْئًا . فَنَظَرْتُ مَدَّ بَصَرِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَمِنْ رَاكِبٍ وَمَاشٍ ، وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ، وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ ، وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ جَابِرٌ : وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِنَا عَلَيْهِ يَنْزِلُ الْقُرْآنُ وَهُوَ يَعْرِفُ تَأْوِيلَهُ ، فَمَا عَمِلَ بِهِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ عَمِلْنَا . فَخَرَجْنَا لَا نَنْوِي إِلَّا الْحَجَّ ، حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَيْنَا الْكَعْبَةَ اسْتَلَمَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ ، ثُمَّ رَمَلَ ثَلَاثَةً وَمَشَى أَرْبَعَةً ، حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ عَمَدَ إِلَى مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى خَلْفَهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : { وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى } ، قَالَ أَبِي : فَقَرَأَ فِيهِ " بِالتَّوْحِيدِ " وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } ثُمَّ [1/179] اسْتَلَمَ الْحَجَرَ وَخَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّفَا ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : { إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللهِ } ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : نَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللهُ بِهِ ، فَرَقِيَ عَلَى الصَّفَا ، حَتَّى إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ كَبَّرَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ ، وَهَزَمَ أَوْ غَلَبَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ ، ثُمَّ دَعَا ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى هَذَا الْكَلَامِ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا انْصَبَّتْ قَدَمَاهُ فِي الْوَادِي رَمَلَ ، حَتَّى إِذَا صَعِدَ مَشَى ، حَتَّى إِذَا أَتَى الْمَرْوَةَ فَرَقِيَ عَلَيْهَا ، حَتَّى إِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ ، فَقَالَ عَلَيْهَا كَمَا قَالَ عَلَى الصَّفَا . فَلَمَّا كَانَ السَّابِعُ عِنْدَ الْمَرْوَةِ قَالَ : يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ، إِنِّي لَوِ اسْتَقْبَلْتُ مِنْ أَمْرِي مَا اسْتَدْبَرْتُ لَمْ أَسُقِ الْهَدْيَ وَلَجَعَلْتُهَا عُمْرَةً ، فَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَحِلَّ وَلْيَجْعَلْهَا عُمْرَةً ، قَالَ : فَحَلَّ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ ، فَقَالَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ جُعْشُمٍ وَهُوَ فِي أَسْفَلِ الْمَرْوَةِ : يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ، أَلِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ ؟ قَالَ : فَشَبَّكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصَابِعَهُ ، فَقَالَ : لِلْأَبَدِ - ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ - ثُمَّ قَالَ : دَخَلَتِ الْعُمْرَةُ فِي الْحَجِّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ، قَالَ : وَقَدِمَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ ، فَقَدِمَ بِهَدْيٍ ، وَسَاقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ هَدْيًا ، فَإِذَا فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا قَدْ حَلَّتْ وَلَبِسَتْ ثِيَابًا صَبِيغًا ، وَاكْتَحَلَتْ ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَلَيْهَا ، فَقَالَتْ : أَمَرَنِي بِهِ أَبِي ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بِالْكُوفَةِ - قَالَ أَبِي : هَذَا الْحَرْفُ لَمْ يَذْكُرْهُ جَابِرٌ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ - فَذَهَبْتُ مُحَرِّشًا أَسْتَفْتِي رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الَّذِي ذَكَرَتْ فَاطِمَةُ ، قُلْتُ : إِنَّ فَاطِمَةَ لَبِسَتْ ثِيَابًا صَبِيغًا وَاكْتَحَلَتْ ، وَقَالَتْ : أَمَرَنِي بِهِ أَبِي ، فَقَالَ : صَدَقَتْ صَدَقَتْ ، أَنَا أَمَرْتُهَا بِهِ . قَالَ جَابِرٌ : وَقَالَ لِعَلِيٍّ [1/180] رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ بِمَ أَهَلَلْتَ ؟ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : اللَّهُمَّ ، إِنِّي أُهِلُّ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . قَالَ : وَمَعِيَ الْهَدْيُ ، قَالَ : فَلَا تَحِلَّ . قَالَ : وَكَانَ جَمَاعَةُ الْهَدْيِ الَّذِي أَتَى بِهِ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ وَالَّذِي أَتَى بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِائَةً ، فَنَحَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ ثَلَاثًا وَسِتِّينَ وَأَعْطَى عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَنَحَرَ مَا غَبَرَ وَأَشْرَكَهُ فِي هَدْيِهِ . ثُمَّ أَمَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ بَدَنَةٍ بِبَضْعَةٍ فَجُعِلَتْ فِي قِدْرٍ فَأَكَلَا مِنْ لَحْمِهَا وَشَرِبَا مِنْ مَرَقِهَا . ثُمَّ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ نَحَرْتُ هَاهُنَا وَمِنًى كُلُّهَا مَنْحَرٌ ، وَوَقَفَ بِعَرَفَةَ وَقَالَ : قَدْ وَقَفْتُ هَاهُنَا وَعَرَفَةُ كُلُّهَا مَوْقِفٌ ، وَوَقَفَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ ، فَقَالَ : قَدْ وَقَفْتُ هَاهُنَا وَالْمُزْدَلِفَةُ كُلُّهَا مَوْقِفٌ .

Abd Allah ibn Hashim narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, he said: Ja'far narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, he said: We came to Jabir ibn Abd Allah while he was among Banu Salima and we asked him about the Hajj of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stayed in Madina for nine years without performing Hajj, then it was announced among the people that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would perform Hajj this year, so many people descended upon Madina, all of them seeking to follow the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and to do as he did. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out when five days remained of Dhu al-Qa'da, and we set out with him, until when he came to Dhu al-Hulayfa, Asma bint Umays gave birth to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, so she sent to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asking him: What should I do? He said: Perform ghusl, then wrap yourself with a cloth, then enter ihram. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out until when his she-camel rose with him upon al-Bayda, he declared tawhid with the talbiya: Labbayk Allahumma labbayk, labbayk la sharika laka labbayk, inna al-hamda wa al-ni'mata laka wa al-mulk, la sharika lak. And the people recited the talbiya, and the people added: Dha al-Ma'arij and the like. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard but said nothing to them. I looked as far as my eyesight extended in front of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): riders and walkers, and behind him likewise, and to his right likewise, and to his left likewise. Jabir said: And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was among us, the Qur'an was being revealed upon him and he knew its interpretation, so whatever he acted upon of it, we acted upon. We set out intending nothing but Hajj, until when we came to the Ka'ba, the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) touched the Black Stone, then walked briskly (ramal) for three circuits and walked normally for four, until when he finished he went to the Maqam of Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and prayed two rak'as behind it, then he recited: And take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer. My father said: And he recited therein Surah al-Tawhid and: Say, O you disbelievers. Then he touched the Stone and went out to al-Safa, then he recited: Indeed al-Safa and al-Marwa are among the symbols of Allah. Then he said: We begin with what Allah began with. So he ascended al-Safa until when he looked at the House he proclaimed takbir, then said: There is no god but Allah alone, without partner, to Him belongs dominion and to Him belongs praise, and He is over all things Competent; there is no god but Allah, He fulfilled His promise, aided His servant, and defeated the Confederates alone. Then he supplicated, then he returned to these words, then he descended until when his feet poured forth in the valley he walked briskly, until when he ascended he walked, until when he came to al-Marwa he ascended it, until when he looked at the House, he said upon it as he had said upon al-Safa. When it was the seventh at al-Marwa, he said: O people, had I known beforehand what I know now, I would not have brought the sacrificial animals and I would have made it an Umra, so whoever does not have a sacrificial animal with him, let him exit ihram and make it an Umra. He said: So all the people exited ihram, and Suraqa ibn Ju'shum said while he was at the bottom of al-Marwa: O Messenger of Allah, is this for our year only or forever? So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) interlaced his fingers and said: Forever - three times - then he said: Umra has entered into Hajj until the Day of Resurrection. He said: And Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived from Yemen, bringing sacrificial animals, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had brought sacrificial animals with him from Madina, and Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) had exited ihram and worn dyed garments and applied kohl, so Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) disapproved of that in her, so she said: My father commanded me with it. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said in Kufa - my father said: This phrase Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) did not mention - so I went, inciting, to seek a verdict from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about what Fatima had mentioned. I said: Fatima wore dyed garments and applied kohl, and said: My father commanded me with it. He said: She spoke the truth, she spoke the truth, I commanded her with it. Jabir said: And he said to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): With what did you enter ihram? He said: I said: O Allah, I enter ihram with what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) enters ihram with. He said: And I have the sacrificial animals with me, he said: Then do not exit ihram. He said: And the total of the sacrificial animals which Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) brought from Yemen and which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought was one hundred. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) slaughtered sixty-three with his own hand and gave to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), who slaughtered the rest, and he made him a partner in his sacrifice. Then he ordered a piece from each camel to be placed in a pot, and they ate from its meat and drank from its broth. Then the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I have slaughtered here, and Mina in its entirety is a place of slaughter. And he stood at Arafat and said: I have stood here, and Arafat in its entirety is a standing place. And he stood at al-Muzdalifa and said: I have stood here, and al-Muzdalifa in its entirety is a standing place.
