284 - Ali ibn Khashram narrated to us, he said: Isa ibn Yunus informed me, from Hisham, from Hafsah, from Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah, may Allah be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded us to bring them out on the day of Fitr and Nahr: the unmarried young women, and the menstruating women, and those secluded in chambers. As for the menstruating women, they keep away from the prayer place, and witness the good and the supplication of the Muslims. I said: O Messenger of Allah, one of them may not have a cloak? He said: Let her sister clothe her from her cloak.

285 - Ishaq ibn Mansur narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Rahman - meaning Ibn Mahdi - informed me, from Sufyan, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abis, he said: I heard Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, say: I went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on a day of Fitr or Adha, so he prayed then addressed, then he came to the women and admonished them, and reminded them, and commanded them with charity.

291 - Muhammad ibn Yahya narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj informed me, he said: Hasan ibn Muslim informed me, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, he said: I witnessed the Fitr prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Abu Bakr and Umar and Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them, and all of them prayed it before the sermon, then addressed after. He said: Then the Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) descended as if I am looking at him when he seated the men with his hand, then he came cutting through them until he came to the women, with Bilal with him. So he said: "O Prophet, when the believing women come to you pledging to you that they will not associate anything with Allah." So he recited this verse until he finished from it, then he said when he finished from it: Are you upon that? Then one woman said - none other than her among them answered: Yes, O Prophet of Allah - Hasan does not know who she is - He said: So give charity. He said: So Bilal spread his garment, then he said: Come on, for you, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you. So they began casting rings and signet rings into the garment of Bilal.

Then riders came at the end of the day and testified before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that they had seen the crescent the day before. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) commanded them to break fast from their day, and to go out for their Eid the next morning.
