Umm Salamah asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said: Let her consider the number of days and nights she used to menstruate before that, and let her leave prayer for that amount; then when the prayer time comes, let her perform ghusl, wrap herself with a cloth, and pray. Ibn al-Muqri' and Mahmud ibn Adam narrated to us, they said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from Fatimah bint al-Mundhir, from her grandmother Asma': that a woman asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about a garment struck by menstrual blood. He said: Scrape it, rub it, sprinkle it with water, and pray.
