40 - حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ كَامِلٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، ( ح ) وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَفَّافُ ، ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، ثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ الْمِسْوَرَ بْنَ مَخْرَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَوْفٍ وَهُوَ حَلِيفُ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ [17/26] وَكَانَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - بَعَثَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ إِلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ ، فَأَتَى بِجِزْيَتِهَا وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - صَالَحَ أَهْلَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ وَأَمَّرَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، فَقَدِمَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بِمَالٍ مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ فَسَمِعَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ بِقُدُومِ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ فَوَافَوْا صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - ، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - انْصَرَفَ وَتَعَرَّضُوا لَهُ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ - صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حِينَ رَآهُمْ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَظُنُّكُمْ سَمِعْتُمْ أَنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ قَدِمَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ ؟ قَالُوا : أَجَلْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ : " فَأَبْشِرُوا بِمَا يَسُرُّكُمْ ، فَوَاللهِ مَا الْفَقْرَ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ ، وَلَكِنْ أَخْشَى عَلَيْكُمْ أَنْ تُبْسَطَ عَلَيْكُمُ الدُّنْيَا كَمَا بُسِطَتْ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ ، فَتَنَافَسُوهَا كَمَا تَنَافَسُوهَا ، وَتُهْلِكَكُمْ كَمَا أَهْلَكَتْهُمْ .

Harun ibn Kamil al-Misri narrated to us: Abdullah ibn Salih narrated to us: al-Layth narrated to me, from Yunus, (ha), and Ismail ibn al-Hasan al-Khaffaf narrated to us: Ahmad ibn Salih narrated to us: Ibn Wahb narrated to us: Yunus informed me, from Ibn Shihab, from Urwah ibn al-Zubayr, that al-Miswar ibn Makhramah informed him that Amr ibn Awf, and he is the ally of Banu Amir ibn Luayy, and he had witnessed Badr with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), informed him that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah to al-Bahrayn, and he brought its jizyah. And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was the one who had made peace with the people of al-Bahrayn and appointed over them al-Ala ibn al-Hadrami. Then Abu Ubaydah arrived with wealth from al-Bahrayn, and the Ansar heard of the arrival of Abu Ubaydah, so they attended the Fajr prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed, he turned away, and they presented themselves to him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) smiled when he saw them, then he said: I think you have heard that Abu Ubaydah has come with something from al-Bahrayn? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Then receive glad tidings of what delights you. By Allah, it is not poverty I fear for you, but I fear for you that the world will be spread out for you just as it was spread out for those before you, and you will compete for it just as they competed for it, and it will destroy you just as it destroyed them.
