Muhammad ibn Rashid ibn Yazid al-Asbahani narrated to us, Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi narrated to us, Shubah told us, from al-Amash, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse: Fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims. Then he said: If a drop of Zaqqum were to drip into the seas of the world, it would spoil the livelihoods of the people of the world; so how about one whose food it is? No one narrated this hadith from al-Amash except Shubah.

ہمیں محمد بن راشد بن یزید اصبہانی نے بیان کیا، ہمیں ابو داؤد طیالسی نے بیان کیا، ہمیں شعبہ نے بتایا، اعمش سے، مجاہد سے، ابن عباس سے، کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ آیت تلاوت کی: اللہ سے ڈرو جیسا اس سے ڈرنے کا حق ہے اور نہ مرو مگر مسلمان۔ پھر فرمایا: اگر زقوم کا ایک قطرہ دنیا کے سمندروں میں ٹپکے تو دنیا والوں کی معیشت خراب کر دے، تو اس کا کیا حال جس کا کھانا وہ ہو؟ یہ حدیث اعمش سے شعبہ کے سوا کسی نے روایت نہیں کی۔
