So she brought a large cup and we drank, then she brought a small cup with milk in it and we drank. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If you wish, spend the night, and if you wish, go to the mosque. We said: No, rather we will go to the mosque. He said: While I was in the mosque lying on my stomach, a man moved me with his foot and said: This is a lying position Allah hates. So I looked, and it was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Then he said: Do you have any drink? She said: Yes, a little milk I prepared for you. He said: Bring it. So she brought it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took it, raised it to his mouth, and drank a little, then said: Drink, in Allah's name. So we drank until, by Allah, we would not look at it. Then we went out, and I came to the mosque and lay on my face. And al-Nasa'i narrated it from Ibn Muthanna with its chain; and from Muhammad ibn Abd al-A'la, from Khalid, from Hisham with its chain, similarly; and from Shu'ayb ibn Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq, from Abd al-Wahhab ibn Sa'id, from Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq, from al-Awza'i — Yahya narrated to me; Abu Salamah narrated to me; Qays ibn Takhfah al-Ghifari narrated to me; my father narrated to me, similarly; and from Ibrahim ibn Ya'qub, from al-Hasan ibn Musa, from Shayban, from Yahya, from Abu Salamah: that Ya'ish ibn Qays ibn Takhfah narrated to him, from his father. And he narrated it through other chains. And Ibn Majah narrated it from Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah in part; and from Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah, from al-Walid ibn Muslim, from al-Awza'i, from Yahya, from Qays ibn Tihfah, from his father, with the story of his sleeping on his stomach. And Abu Hatim al-Busti narrated it from Ibn Sallam, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim, from al-Awza'i, from Yahya, from Ibn Qays ibn Tihfah, from his father, similarly. Abu Ishaq Ibrahim al-Harbi said: This hadith was narrated from Abu Salamah by al-Harith ibn Abd al-Rahman. Ibn Abi Dhi'b said: And Yahya ibn Kathir; and Hisham and Shayban and al-Awza'i and Ma'mar and Muhammad ibn Jabir narrated it from Yahya. As for Ma'mar, he sent it as mursal, so it is neither proof for him nor against him. As for Ibn Jabir, he erred in parts of it: he did not mention Abu Salamah, and said: Ayyash, intending to say Ya'ish ibn Tihfah; and said: Ibn Abi Tihfah; and said: Hisham from Ya'ish ibn Takhfah, from his father. And Shayban said: Ya'ish ibn Qays ibn Tihfah, from his father. And al-Awza'i said: From Ibn Qays ibn Tihfah, from his father; all of this I do not recognize. The view with me is the statement of al-Harith, from Abu Salamah, from the son of Abdillah ibn Tihfah, from his father: this is a man of Ghifar who came to Madinah and accepted Islam, then returned to Ghayfah and al-Safra', settling there. If they had not said Qays ibn Takhfah and Ibn Qays ibn Takhfah, from his father — all of this I do not recognize; the view with me is the statement of al-Harith. Abu Ishaq said: I said to Ali ibn Abdillah: Ibn Tihfah? He said: His name is Ya'ish. Hisham's hadith requires the hadith to be from Takhfah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); and Shayban's hadith requires it to be from Qays ibn Takhfah; and Allah knows best what is correct. And there was a man among the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) called Ya'ish, whose lineage I do not know.
