Sahih

Narrated to us Muḥammad ibn Bashshār: narrated to us Ibn Abī ʿAdī: from Saʿīd: from Qatādah: from Sālim ibn Abī al-Jaʿd: from Maʿdān: that ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (RA) delivered a sermon to the people on the day of Friday, then he said: "O people! Indeed, you eat two trees that I do not see except that they are two evil things. This is garlic, and this is onion. I used to see a man whose odor was offensive, so he would be taken by the hand and led out to al-Baqīʿ (the graveyard). Whoever eats them, let him conceal their odor by cooking them." **CHAPTER:**
