(5) CHAPTER. One should not swear by Al-Lat and Al-Uzza (idols which used to be worshipped in the Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance in Hijaz) or by any kind of false deities.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Whoever swears saying in his oath. 'By Al-Lat and Al-`Uzza,' should say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah; and whoever says to his friend, 'Come, let me gamble with you,' should give something in charity.

نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”جس نے قسم کھائی اور کہا کہ ”لات و عزیٰ کی قسم“ تو اسے پھر کلمہ «لا إله إلا الله» کہہ لینا چاہئے اور جو شخص اپنے ساتھی سے کہے کہ آؤ جوا کھیلیں تو اسے چاہئے کہ ( اس کے کفارہ میں ) صدقہ کرے۔
