Yunus narrated to us, saying: Abu Dawud narrated to us, saying: Shubah reported to us, from al-Aswad ibn Qays, who heard Jundub say: Gabriel tarried from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so a woman said: I see his companion has but tarried from him! So Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed: By the morning light, and the night when it covers, your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He hate you.

یونس نے ہم سے بیان کیا، کہا: ابو داؤد نے ہم سے بیان کیا، کہا: شعبہ نے ہم سے بیان کیا، اسود بن قیس سے، انہوں نے حضرت جندب رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے سنا: حضرت جبریل علیہ السلام نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آنے میں دیر کر گئے تو ایک عورت نے کہا: میں سمجھتی ہوں ان کے ساتھی نے ان سے دیر کر دی ہے! تو اللہ عزوجل نے نازل فرمایا: قسم ہے چاشت کی، اور رات کی جب وہ چھا جائے، تمہارے رب نے تمہیں نہ چھوڑا نہ ناراض ہوا۔

Abu Dawud narrated to us, saying: Shubah narrated to us, from al-Aswad, who heard Jundub say: I witnessed the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) preaching on the day of sacrifice. He said: Whoever of you slaughtered before the prayer, let him repeat another in place of his sacrifice; and whoever has not slaughtered, let him slaughter in the name of Allah.

And Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal reported this hadith from Khalid al-Hadhdha, from Anas ibn Sirin, from Jundub, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
