4687 - Abu al-Tufayl from Ibn Abbas: Muhammad ibn Uthman ibn Karama narrated to us, he said: Ubayd Allah ibn Musa narrated to us, he said: Fitr narrated to us, from Abu al-Tufayl, he said: I said to Ibn Abbas: Your people claim that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ran (ramal) and that it is a sunnah. He said: They lied and they told the truth: the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did run, but it is not a sunnah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came while the polytheists were on the mountain of Quayqian, and it reached him that they were saying that the Messenger of Allah and his Companions were weakened, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ran and commanded his Companions to run so the polytheists would see that they had strength.

4690 - Bishr ibn Muadh al-Aqadi narrated to us, he said: Fudayl ibn Sulayman narrated to us, he said: Abd Allah ibn Uthman ibn Khuthaym narrated to us from Said ibn Jubayr and Abu al-Tufayl, from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) looked at Makkah and said: "You are the most beloved of Allah's land to Allah; had your people not expelled me from you, I would not have left." This hadith has been narrated from Abu Hurayra and others, and we do not know it narrated from Ibn Abbas with a chain better than this chain; some who narrated it from Ibn Khuthaym said: from Said ibn Jubayr from Ibn Abbas, without mentioning Abu al-Tufayl, while Bishr combined both from Fudayl.
