سُورَةُ الأَعۡرَافِ
Reading Al-Qira'at (Al-Mawsu'ah al-Qur'aniyyah)
Ayahs 111–120 of 206
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَٰشِرِينَ
They said, "Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
أرجه:
قرئ:
1- أرجئهو، بالهمز وضم الهاء ووصلها بواو، وهى قراءة ابن كثير، وهشام.
2- أرجئه، بالهمز وضم الهاء، وهى قراءة أبى عمرو.
3- أرجهى، بغير همز، وبكسر الهاء ووصلها بياء، وهى قراءة ورش، والكسائي.
4- أرجه، بغير همز وإسكان الهاء، وهى قراءة عاصم، وحمزة.
5- أرجه، بغير همز واختلاس كسرة الهاء.
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَٰحِرٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
Who will bring you every learned magician."
سحار:
قرئ:
ساحر، وهى قراءة الأخوين.
وَجَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ
And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, "Indeed for us is a reward if we are the predominant."
إن لنا لأجرا:
قرئ:
1- إن، على الخبر، وهى قراءة الحرميين، وحفص.
2- إن، على الاستفهام، حذفت منه الهمزة.
3- أن، بإثبات همزة الاستفهام محققة أو مسهلة، وهى قراءة الأخوين، وابن عامر، وأبى بكر، وأبى عمرو.
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
He said, "Yes, and, [moreover], you will be among those made near [to me]."

قَالُوا۟ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِمَّآ أَن تُلْقِىَ وَإِمَّآ أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ ٱلْمُلْقِينَ
They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]."

قَالَ أَلْقُوا۟ ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَلْقَوْا۟ سَحَرُوٓا۟ أَعْيُنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَٱسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَآءُو بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
He said, "Throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic.

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying.
تلقف:
قرئ:
1- تلقف، بسكون اللام، من لقف، وهى قراءة حفص.
2- تلقف، مضارع تلقف، حذفت إحدى التاءين، وهى قراءة باقى السبعة.
3- بإدغام تاء المضارعة فى التاء الأصلية، وهى قراءة البزي.
4- تلقم، بالميم، وهى قراءة ابن جبير.
فَوَقَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing.

فَغُلِبُوا۟ هُنَالِكَ وَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ صَٰغِرِينَ
And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased.

وَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَٰجِدِينَ
And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].
