سُورَةُ الحِجۡرِ
Reading Al-Muyassar fi Gharib al-Qur'an
Ayahs 21–30 of 99
وَإِن مِّن شَىْءٍ إِلَّا عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ وَمَا نُنَزِّلُهُۥٓ إِلَّا بِقَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
And there is not a thing but that with Us are its depositories, and We do not send it down except according to a known measure.
﴿عِندَنَا خَزَآئِنُهُۥ﴾: قادِرُون على إيجادِه وتدبيرِه والإنعامِ به من جميعِ الأصنافِ.
﴿بِقَدَرࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ﴾: بمقدارٍ مُحَدَّدٍ.
وَأَرْسَلْنَا ٱلرِّيَٰحَ لَوَٰقِحَ فَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ فَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُمُوهُ وَمَآ أَنتُمْ لَهُۥ بِخَٰزِنِينَ
And We have sent the fertilizing winds and sent down water from the sky and given you drink from it. And you are not its retainers.
﴿لَوَ ٰقِحَ﴾: حَواملَ للسَّحابِ ولِلَقاحِ الشجَرِ، أو مُلقِّحاتٍ للسَّحابِ وللأشجارِ.
﴿وَمَآ أَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ بِخَـٰزِنِينَ﴾: لَسْتم بقادرين على حِفْظِ الماءِ وادِّخاره.
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ نُحْىِۦ وَنُمِيتُ وَنَحْنُ ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ
And indeed, it is We who give life and cause death, and We are the Inheritor.
﴿ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثُونَ﴾: للأرضِ ومَن عليها؛ لأنه سبحانه هو الباقي بعد فَناءِ الخَلْقِ.
وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَقْدِمِينَ مِنكُمْ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْنَا ٱلْمُسْتَـْٔخِرِينَ
And We have already known the preceding [generations] among you, and We have already known the later [ones to come].
﴿ٱلۡمُسۡتَقۡدِمِينَ﴾: الذين ماتُوا من لَدُنْ آدمَ عليه السَّلامُ.
﴿ٱلۡمُسۡتَـٔۡخِرِينَ﴾: الأحياءَ، ومَن سيأتي إلى يوم القيامة.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌۭ
And indeed, your Lord will gather them; indeed, He is Wise and Knowing.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ
And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud.
﴿صَلۡصَـٰلࣲ﴾: طينٍ يابسٍ غيرِ مطبوخٍ، يُسْمَعُ له صَلْصَلةٌ، أي: صوتٌ حين النَّقْرِ عليه.
﴿حَمَإࣲ﴾: طينٍ أسودَ.
﴿مَّسۡنُونࣲ﴾: متغيِّرِ اللونِ والرائحةِ، أو مُصَوَّرٍ صورةَ إنسانٍ.
وَٱلْجَآنَّ خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ
And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.
﴿وَٱلۡجَآنَّ﴾: أبا الجنِّ، وهو إبليسُ.
﴿مِن قَبۡلُ﴾: من قَبْلِ خَلْقِ آدمَ.
﴿نَّارِ ٱلسَّمُومِ﴾: نارٍ شديدةِ الحرارةِ لا دُخانَ لها.
وَإِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ إِنِّى خَٰلِقٌۢ بَشَرًۭا مِّن صَلْصَٰلٍۢ مِّنْ حَمَإٍۢ مَّسْنُونٍۢ
And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud.
Explained together with ayah 27
فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُۥ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِى فَقَعُوا۟ لَهُۥ سَٰجِدِينَ
And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration."
﴿سَوَّيۡتُهُۥ﴾: أكمَلْتُ صورتَه، وأتممتُ خَلْقَه.
﴿مِن رُّوحِي﴾: ما به حياتُه بأمري، فصارَ بَشَرًا.
﴿سَـٰجِدِينَ﴾: سجودَ تحيةٍ وتكريمٍ.
فَسَجَدَ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely,
