42 - Chapter: A man opens prayer sitting, is he allowed to bow standing or not? 1982 - Sulayman ibn Shu'ayb narrated to us, he said: al-Khasib ibn Nasih narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Sirin, from Abdullah ibn Shaqiq al-Uqayli, from Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would say takbir for prayer standing and sitting, so when he prayed standing he bowed standing, and when he prayed sitting he bowed sitting.

Abu Ja'far said: So a people went to disliking bowing standing for one who opened prayer sitting, and they argued in that by this hadith. And others opposed them in that; and saw no harm in it.

And of their proof in that was what Yunus narrated to us, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, that Malik narrated to him, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from his father, from Aishah, Mother of the Believers, may Allah be pleased with her: She informed him that she never saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pray night prayer sitting ever until he aged, so he would recite sitting, until when he wanted to bow he stood and recited about thirty verses or forty verses, then bowed.

1992 - Yunus narrated to us, he said: Ibn Wahb informed us, that Malik narrated to him, from Abdullah ibn Yazid, freedman of al-Aswad ibn Sufyan, and Abu al-Nadr, freedman of Umar ibn Ubaydillah, from Abu Salamah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) the like of it. So in this hadith is other than what is in the hadith of Abdullah ibn Shaqiq; for in this he would bow standing after opening prayer sitting. And this is worthier than the first hadith which Ibn Shaqiq reported; for his remaining sitting until bowing sitting does not indicate he may not stand and bow standing, while his standing from his sitting until bowing standing indicates he may bow standing after opening sitting: so for this we made this hadith worthier than what preceded it. And this is the view of Abu Hanifah and Abu Yusuf and Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on them.

1992 - ہمیں یونس نے حدیث سنائی، کہا: ہمیں ابن وہب نے خبر دی، کہ مالک نے انہیں حدیث سنائی، عبداللہ بن یزید مولیٰ اسود بن سفیان اور ابو النضر مولیٰ عمر بن عبیداللہ سے، ابو سلمہ بن عبدالرحمن سے، عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اسی کی مثل۔ تو اس حدیث میں وہ ہے جو عبداللہ بن شقیق کی حدیث میں نہیں؛ کیونکہ اس میں ہے کہ وہ بیٹھ کر نماز شروع کرنے کے بعد کھڑے ہوکر رکوع کرتے تھے۔ اور یہ پہلی حدیث سے اولیٰ ہے جو ابن شقیق نے روایت کی؛ کیونکہ ان کا بیٹھے رہنا یہاں تک کہ بیٹھ کر رکوع کریں اس پر دلالت نہیں کرتا کہ انہیں کھڑا ہونا اور کھڑے ہوکر رکوع کرنا نہیں ہے، اور ان کا اپنے بیٹھنے سے کھڑا ہونا یہاں تک کہ کھڑے ہوکر رکوع کریں دلالت کرتا ہے کہ انہیں بیٹھ کر آغاز کے بعد کھڑے ہوکر رکوع کرنا ہے: تو اسی لیے ہم نے اس حدیث کو اس سے پہلے سے اولیٰ بنایا۔ اور یہ ابو حنیفہ اور ابو یوسف اور محمد رحمہم اللہ کا قول ہے۔
